Fight for the figure: male and female approach


Do men take care of their figure enough? Alas, their efforts do not suit either women or men themselves. More than half of the male population weighs more than what the tables recommend. The same number of men suffer from the consequences of being overweight and face the problem of obesity.

Men get fat differently than women - they have excess fat concentrated on the abdomen, while women also gain weight in the buttocks, and the girth of the hips also increases - this is also a frequent result of being overweight. Women usually lead a different way of life and relate to such phenomena differently. They are much easier to decide on the use of a diet. However, men are more consistent in their decisions.

Women are much more likely to fall into anorexia, bulimia and are prone to sudden bouts of uncontrolled binge eating. In women, appearance, and therefore figure, has a strong relationship with self-esteem. Men are rarely obsessed with their figure, and if they gain a few kilograms, then most likely they don’t even notice it.

Only after a sharp achievement of an uncomfortable limit, they quickly decide on the use of a diet for weight loss. This decision is usually dictated by comments from the environment, mostly from the partner. Women do the opposite - despite the lack of signals from the environment, they are able to inspire themselves with the need to switch to a diet.

Men face the problem of obesity most often after overcoming the 40-year milestone, while women begin to struggle with the problem of maintaining the right figure after reaching the age of 30. Men's nutrition leaves much to be desired. They tend to eat high-calorie meals, drink more alcohol (especially beer), and eat unhealthy and fatty snacks with it.

Scientists drew attention to an unusual pattern - men prefer to burn calories through movement, women usually torture themselves with strict diets. The beautiful half is distinguished by great impatience - when, after a couple or several days, women do not see the effect of the diet used for weight loss, they throw it in despair, and after the onset of the boomerang effect, they start a new one.
