Natural and organic cosmetics: is there a difference?
av_timer12/05/2018Many manufacturers assure us of the naturalness of cosmetics, and even the prefixes "bio", "phyto" and "organic" give more confidence in the naturalness of the product. If you dig deeper, it's not so simple, and the words "organic" and "natural" are far from synonymous.
Natural cosmetics include in its composition from 20% to 50% of products of natural origin. The manufacturer can add just a drop of natural ingredients to a large amount of cream, as a result, such a remedy will officially be considered natural. Although refined products and preservatives are in the first place in the list of constituent components, the main thing is the presence of natural essential oils.
Organic cosmetics - contains 95% natural ingredients and only 5% are saccharides, lipoproteins, fats and other ingredients. The main ingredients must be grown on lands where fertilizers are not applied, there are no pesticides and growth stimulants. Finished products are tested on voluntary participants or in test tubes, animals do not take part in such experiments.
Biocosmetics is one of the subspecies of organic cosmetics, but it has one difference - the composition contains components of animal origin.
